Sinhala-Tamil New Year Festival

The annual Avurudu festival at Independence Square brought thousands of families together for traditional games, music and food stalls. We covered the day with three roaming cinema cameras, a drone for crowd aerials and a small live-stream rig for the cultural performance segments. The footage edited into a 6-minute cultural documentary for the trust's social channels. The event ran from morning oil ceremony through to the evening lantern lighting without a single technical interruption.
