The Ezviz H9c Dual runs on AC mains power using the included DC 12V/1.5A adapter. It does not use a battery, so you will need a working power outlet nearby. Consider a UPS if you need backup during CEB power cuts.

Can I use this outdoors during monsoon season?

Yes, the H9c Dual is weatherproof and rated for -30 to 50 deg C operation. The housing handles rain and humidity typical of Sri Lankan monsoons. Position the power adapter and cable joints in a sheltered spot where possible.

Do I need Wi-Fi or can I connect with a cable?

It supports both 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and wired RJ45 Ethernet. If your location has weak Wi-Fi or frequent outages, run an Ethernet cable for a more stable feed. Either way, you will need internet access to use the Ezviz app remotely.

How is night footage stored if I do not have cloud storage?

The camera records to a microSD card up to 512GB, which you would need to provide or source separately. Color night vision works up to 40m when the 4 spotlights activate, or IR black-and-white up to 30m. H.265 compression helps the card hold more footage before overwriting.
